"Does it solve or worsen the issue?"
One way to check your mental model of the world is, if something doesn't make sense and you discover new information, you can think:
"Does it solve or worsen the issue?"

Do you ever think of the mental models you use for living life?
Here's one way to understand mental models:
"A mental model is an explanation of how something works. The phrase 'mental model' is an overarching term for any sort of concept, framework, or worldview that you carry around in your mind. Mental models help you understand life."
-James Clear
Consider how that text might have helped you make sense of the concept of mental models... 😉 Does it make more sense now? Does it solve or worsen the issue?
🌏🤔🧠🫀🔍
A mental model can be helpful or not.
It can be wrong.
It can also need an update, because the world changes.
Luckily, our mental models are flexible - when we are open to debate, information, new knowledge and learning.
Luckily, we tend to be curious.
Sometimes, when we're feeling stressed, we can lose connection to our curiosity. It's a useful way to save energy. After a while, though, it feels sad and isolating and may contribute to the stress over prolonged time, starting a negative feedback loop.
How do you reconnect with your curiosity?
By starting small.
What might you be a little bit curious about?
Follow that thread, pull that tiny lose thread and see where it leads you 🧶 No lose threads? What used to make you feel curious? You can follow that.
Then you can check:
"Does it solve or worsen the issue?"
