What is a leader?
Which leader would you like to lead you? Do you want a leader? If so, what specifically would you like them to lead? Can we do without leaders? A leaderless future? What are leaders without followers? What is self-leadership? What is project leadership? What is sustainable and regenerative leadership?
What is a leader?
This year at the tech entrepreneurship camp Founders of Tomorrow, the younger generation of founders of tomorrow questioned whether the concept of ‘the leader’ would exist in the future. It blew my mind in one of those infinite ways that gorgeous camp tends to do. No leaders?
I’ve been wondering about it since then. As leaders, how do we build the capacity to question our own role? When - and for what - are we needed, and when do we step aside? Can we build self-leading organizations and then either move on or find something else to do than lead?
I’d like to invite you to imagine a future where organizations are like coral reefs. What is leadership in a coral reef? Let’s ask again:
What is leadership in a coral reef?
Might leadership be the processes inbetween?
