Struggling to think systemically?
Here’s an idea for how to "systems think" about mental health and conditions that affect it - the map below was gathered by Dark Matter Labs.
Genetics would have to be much bigger in this map to reflect actual magnitude of influence.
Genetic awareness in our populations and more genetic research in relation to mental health definitely hold more potential than realized at the moment.
At the same time, there are encouragingly many other conditions influencing our global mental health that we can design for.
You can apply similar categories like in the map and imagine this type of mapping with other complex challenges …for humanity and for what you experience and witness in your life.
You can even apply this type of mapping to how you think about the world with mental models.
Might there be potential in taking outset in your own life as a case study by exploring one of the mental models from the visual in this post, for example Opportunity, Behaviour, or Cause & Effect?
What if you experimented with drafting a map for others to use inspired by your interactions with your ecosystem?

Note on context for reading this map example:
The map was created in 2017/2018 and focused on conditions affecting the mental health of people in the city of Stockholm, Sweden.
